Europäischer Hof

It's the most wonderful time of the year…”

My today's notes will pass through the prism of Christmas but if you'd like to read a more detailed story about the hotel and the von Kretschmann family, you can follow this link- Europäischer Hof

I adore the succession of winter holidays; for me, they are filled with warmth, classic coziness, beauty and Europäischer Hof Heidelberg, in my opinion, is the absolute quintessence of all the aforementioned.

This photo session was a complete immersion into the holiday atmosphere and I didn't even notice how the hours flew by. If I were a writer, I would undoubtedly compose a Christmas story set in Heidelberg, at the Europäischer Hof, a tale of travels, love, friendship, and adventures. However, I am not a writer but a photographer, so I'll share with you my "visual story" about the marvelous Christmas decorations in the hotel, created by Mrs von Kretschmann.

. The Family, or more precisely, this time, one of the representatives of the third generation caught my lens - Ernst-Friedrich von Kretschmann, the

gentleman and an elegant, charismatic man.

And I will also provide a small quote from my previous post about Europäischer Hof:

“Mr von Kretschmann is not only a hotelier but also the person responsible for the construction and technical aspects of the hotel”

And now let’s start the journey through the hotel!

. Lobby

This beauty takes one's breath away!

I want to dwell a bit more on the restaurant. It was wonderful, both in atmosphere and cuisine.

On the day of the shoot, the restaurant had a light color scheme, imparting a sense of lightness and grace to the interior. On the second day, at 6 in the morning, as I was heading to capture the lobby, I decided to peek into the restaurant to capture the Christmas tree in the semi-darkness. However, there was no semi-darkness; preparations for the new day were already in full swing, and the color scheme of textiles had changed to a combination of red and white, which was very beautiful. Of course, I couldn't resist and took a few shots with red accents, which you will see after the Green Lounge.

And now about the food.

I just wanted to enjoy my dinner, so I didn't have a camera with me, and I didn't plan to take photos. However, when there is such a beautiful presentation, and your iPhone is lying nearby, resisting and not taking a few shots is an impossible task for me. So, these are the two kings of the evening. In the first photo: Caramelized regional goat cheese with iced walnut, kombucha brew, pumpkin chutney and sweet potato. And in the second: Slice of Breton wild caught turbot “Finkenwerder style” with lemon foam, glazed parsnip, North Sea shrimps and creamy potato mousseline. To say that it was delicious is an understatement. My taste receptors rejoiced!

I also want to add that the restaurant has an excellent team (hotel in general has a great team, but now about restaurant) - the perfect balance in service, where you, as a guest, receive a lot of attention, but at the same time, it's very unobtrusive and very pleasant. Bravo!

. Die Kurfürstenstube

What I wrote above is a stylization in red and white tones. Really beautiful!

. Details

It was,as usual, great to collaborate with the von Kretschmann family and the entire "Europäischer Hof" team. You're so awesome!

I hope you enjoyed this little tour around the hotel and got into the Christmas spirit!:)
